Can you help me choose a Gundam Model?
Since I'm still new in gundam models, i really don't know the difference between variations. I'm specifically confused about the difference between a robot damashii and the one where you need assembly. Are Damashii's stronger overall than models that require assembly like 1/100, 1/144 scales? I know Damashiis are already built but they look like action figures that are quite sturdy and playable. (i'm playing them of course. im just describing how they look like to me)
1/144 HG/HGUC/AW/FCs - Around 14cm tall when completed. Look alright after panel lining and minor paint apps. I personally dislike for their size and, let's face it, the only good looking ones cost about as much as an MG. Good all-around playability.
1/144 RG - Around 14cm tall when completed. Look on-par with MGs after panel lining and decalling. I still don't like the size, but they do look DAMN fine. Are meant to be model kits, not toys, so limited playability.
RD - Around 14cm tall, although they don't follow a scale. Look... okay, I guess. Even before panel lining and paint apps. Probably the best playability you'll get from a Gundam.
1/100 NG/ 1/100 - Around 18cm tall when completed. NEED panel lining and paint apps. Some look alright, others have freaking silly proportions (see: 1/100 Freedom Gundam). Regular playabilty, slightly worse than 1/144s.
1/100 MG - Around 18cm tall when completed. Some need panel lining, whereas some don't (see: MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam, MG 1/100 00 Gundam). Paint apps are only needed if you're a perfectionist. Low playability.
1/60 NG/ 1/60 - Around 30cm tall when completed. All need panel lining and paint apps. Nice playability, but often have the looks of a 1/100 NG (see: Bad). Playability on par with HGs.
1/60 PG - Around 30cm tall when completed. Panel lining is preferred and if you're spending the money on one, might as well get some Gundam Markers, eh? No paint is needed, EVER. Well, maybe one or two (see: PG 1/60 00 Raiser, aka the biggest disappointment in the GunPla community ever). You might think of playing with them, and you know that it's probably really fun, too, but you NEVER mess with anything that menacing =3
And then there are 1/48, 1/35, 1/12, 1/1, 1/200 and a couple others but no one cares about those. Well, maybe the 1/1 Gundam in Odaiba.
