Creative Visualization – The Foundation of Positive Thinking
Creative Visualization is a powerful technique you can use to improve your external circumstances by changing your internal thoughts. Read how you can use it to attract whatever you want into your life.
Creative Visualization is the foundation on which positive thinking is built. It has the power to create for you anything you want in life. Athletes use it to visualize the perfect throw or jump. Golfers use it to envisage the perfect swing. Racing drivers use it to envision the perfect lap. Expectant mothers use it to picture the perfect child. College graduates use it to picture their perfect first job. Whether we know it or not, we all use visualization on a daily basis to imagine what it would be like to ‘live perfection.'
People use this technique to recreate visions in their mind of how they want to see themselves behaving in any given scenario, or how they want a specific outcome to follow an upcoming event. It can also be used to attract material possessions.
Let's look at an example:
Imagine you really, really want a brand new car you've seen in the showroom, no matter how expensive. The best chance you will have of seeing it on your driveway is to visualize it.
Close your eyes and picture nothing else in your mind, every day, as much as possible. Think of nothing else when you picture the car in your mind. Picture the car in front of you, in all its glory. Picture the colour, the shape, the size. Appreciate its beauty. Begin to connect with your car. Imagine yourself sitting inside it. How do you feel? What can you see? Imagine you can smell the leather, feel the dashboard, and touch the steering wheel. Hear the sound of the engine as it sends shivers down your spine.
You are now visualizing. Your aim should be to create as much detail as you can in your mind. Make it as strong as you can, then repeat again and again whilst engaging all your senses. You are mentally conditioning your memory to start attracting your goal. If you do this enough, you will find your behaviour changing in order to comply with your mind's powerful urges. You may subconsciously start searching for a better paid job, start saving more, spending less... anything to help you manifest your new car into your life.
Your imagination is more powerful than you know. If you feed your imagination with enough positive ideas and thoughts, you will begin to attract what you want. You will achieve what you have been thinking of.
Your goal doesn't have to be a physical object. It can be mental, emotional or spiritual. Non physical goals can mean just being happy, experiencing more peace, connecting with your soul, experiencing better relationships, improving your memory or just worrying less. Either way, if you want to experience it, imagine it!
The only thing you need in order to creatively visualize – is DESIRE. This is the one emotion that is the fuel for your mental fire. Create a burning desire of what you want in your mind and you will not fail to achieve it. This must be done when you are in a relaxed state, when your breathing is slow and rested. The more you practice the better you will become.
