Where can I download the Higurashi no Koro ni game in English?
Is there a fansubbed version of the Higurashi game? I know there isn't a legit English version, but I'd still like to play it whether it's translated well or not.

The Higurashi game, Higurashi Daybreak, is nearly impossible to find since production ceased. It really is a fun game, though. I think you can still buy a copy from himeya shop for around $40

There have been more than one Higurashi visual novel released for the PC. The only one that has been slightly translated is Himatsubushi-hen. It's a good translation, though.
It's pretty hard to find a downloadable copy of any of the visual novels, but if you can find one, download it. The English patch can only be applied after the original Japanese VN has been installed on your computer.
The english patch is an incomplete patch that only covers Onikakushi-hen (first 4 episodes of the anime). You cannot download a version of the VN with the patch already applied. You also need a program called applocale to run Japanese software on an American computer.

If you want to skip all the trouble of installing a Japanese game and applying an English patch that, only covers the first chapter. The Higurashi no naku koro ni visual novels are being translated to English (by a company who's name escapes me) and supposedly will begin to become available sometime this month. I say it's worth the wait, and will spare you some headache.
