How can a credit card number be stolen if the credit card was never used online or in stores?
BF's credit card number was recently compromised, and we found out about it when we saw a charge on it from Ohio. He's never used this credit card (Chase Slate), so how could his credit card number get stolen?
We live in Texas, and the charge was made from Ohio. So how could a never been used credit card have its number stolen and used in a different state?
There are many ways credit card numbers are stolen....my father's card was stolen by someone using a random number generator that would try to make a $1 ad purchase on google ads. When his card number came up, and went through, the thieves knew they had a good number and proceeded to make purchases it with it. Luckily the bank recognized the irregular purchases, immediately placed a hold on the account and notified my Dad. Something similar may have happened to your boyfriend.
